The Forest Modern: Modern Vintage Master Bathroom Reveal!

Master bathrooms happen to be one of my favorite rooms to design. You can go so many directions with tile, cabinetry, bath fixtures and lighting! When I began the design process of our new master bath at The Forest Modern, I wanted it to feel luxurious and modern mixed with an element of vintage. A blended design that literally makes my heart skip a beat every time I walk into our new Modern Vintage Master Bathroom!  Are you ready for the big reveal?? I hope so because I took a lot of photos and couldn’t decide on favorites so I’m sharing them all today!

  1. Beautiful! What is the shower bench made out of? It looks like its a slab of something! Really cool floating design!

  2. Oh wow, it really is a show stopper. I love it. That tub is to die for and I love the color stain on your cabinets

  3. How do you feel about opening your shower door and not being ale to step on a floor mat? Ours is the exact same and it drives me nuts.
    Your design taste is impeccable!!

    1. Hi! Thank you for your sweet compliment! Our shower door swings both ways so I actually do normally have a small rug there to step on when getting out of shower. I just took it out for photos 😉

  4. On your rift sawn oak cabinets, did you stain them at all or is it just clear? Your work is gorgeous-all if it!

    1. Hello and thank you!! I worked with my cabinet maker to come up with a clear stain/sealer mix with a hint of white paint to break the yellow undertone that can happen with a clear coat. Does that make sense? Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Beautiful work! I’m wondering if you can you tell me more details on the material used for your fireplace wall? Is it cast concrete or wood? Painted? Thanks in advance!

    1. Hi! Thank you! All the wood panels on the fireplace are smooth MDF with the exception of the panel directly surrounding the fireplace box. That one is fire rated MDF with Bondo overlay (what’s used on car exteriors) to make it durable to the heat. We had to stumble through that design and make it fire resistant material to pass inspection since typically fireplaces require a minimum of 6″ non-flammable material surrounding. At least that’s what I was told….

      1. Thank you for all the info! One more question…what color paint did you use? I love how it has a bit of a concrete look. Thanks in advance.

  6. I absolutely love your design choices! So light and modern with just the perfect amount of wood to keep it warm! All of your surface materials are simply gorgeous, too. That seamless floor into the shower is amazing! Can’t wait to see your next room, Shauna!

  7. Shauna,
I love everything about the bathroom. You should be very proud of your design. Can’t wait to see it with the curtains too.

  8. Shauna!! It’s absolutely to die for! Seriously so gorgeous and so you!! I couldn’t love it more! ???????? (That black tub.. gah! What dreams are made of!) ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  9. Breathtaking! How fun to get to design your space. Radiant floors too by chance?!
    Do you offer e-design services??

    1. Thank you so much!! We actually chose not to do radiant floors since I tend to have “hot feet” lol! Currently I’m not offering e-design services but that may change come fall!

  10. Hi – two things – where did you get the counter chairs in your kitchen island and the links for the shower arm and head (master bath) isn’t working for me – what is that color called and where can I get them?

    Thanks
    Dorothy

  11. It is a beautiful bathroom and I just love the sconces! I have been searching for a nice sconce, could you please share where they are from?
