Beach Cottage New Patio Table & Chairs
In the 17 years we have owned our beach cottage we have never had a decent outdoor patio dining table and chairs. We got by with an inexpensive metal and glass table and cheap plastic woven chairs that rusted and fell apart but served their purpose for the time we needed them. Patio furniture was never a priority or something we wanted to invest in over the years. Primarily because of the expense and also because of the issue of storing them when we were not here. Up until recently, our time at the cottage away from our primary home in Colorado was during holidays, spring break, and short summer vacations. But now that we have become empty nesters for almost 2 years, we spend a good amount of time at our little slice of coastal paradise during the winter and spring months. The time has come to give the beach cottage a much needed makeover. Let me tell you, the day our new patio table and chairs arrived I felt like a kid on Christmas morning!
I have had my eye on this Serena and Lily Terrace Dining table for quite some time. I admit the price tag scared me off initially and I decided to go down the google search rabbit hole and try to find a more affordable replica. I searched high and low and realized that all quality patio furniture comes with a price. Living in southwest Florida just minutes from the beach, the salty air, sweltering heat and humidity are brutal on outdoor furniture that is not made for the elements. My decision came down to it needed to be durable, meaning it won’t rust, warp, fade, or get moldy. All common to this area. It also needed to be super heavy so in the event of a hurricane (we’ve just gone through three in the past three years) it wouldn’t blow away. Since this table is constructed of stone it is incredibly heavy and is not going anywhere. Turns out that the table I fell in love with at first sight checked all the boxes and would truly be the best table for our cottage. I am so happy with my decision!
The sculpted pedestal legs are big and beautiful. I can’t imagine any other table that would complement our cottage style more perfectly. We went with the 94.5″table which easily seats 8 people. I have it set up with 6 chairs which is the current size of our family but could easily add more seating down the road if needed. We’ve had it now for 2 months and can say it has held up so well considering it is in full sun most of the day and has endured a handful of heavy rainstorms. When we want to use it, I simply wipe it off with a swiffer duster and then wipe with a damp microfiber rag. We also purchased the protective cover to keep on it when we aren’t here.
The wicker chairs I chose are quite impressive. They are stout and heavier than they appear which is often not the case with wicker resin chairs. I love that they have removable seat cushions that are made of all-weather performance fabric that is water-repellant, fade-resistant, and stain-resistant. They have a nonslip back side so they don’t blow off or slide around. We’ve sat in the chairs without the cushions too and have found the wicker to be comfortable with or without them.
After getting the table and chairs I went on the hunt for outdoor dishes and found this beautiful melamine beaded set. They have the prettiest pearlescent finish and I absolutely love the scallop edge. These crochet chargers are going to be a staple all spring and summer as well as these adorable napkins. These mini lamps are my latest obsession and something I feel every outdoor table needs for that ambient glow in the evening.
I hope you enjoyed seeing our new outdoor patio table and chairs. I love to share updates of the beach cottage and plan to show more as I continue to spruce it up! In review, I would one hundred percent recommend this table if you are looking for a durable, beautiful statement piece. I was able to purchase ours when it went 20% off so keep an eye out for those sales! I also have no regrets on our wicker chairs. They are better than I even imagined. I’ve linked all sources below.
