I managed to spread my home out in 4 different fall tours this month.  I love fall and I love home tours so I just can’t resist! Setting the tone for fall in my home is quite simple since I always do four things to make my home feel cozy with a nod to the change of season.

Throw pillows can completely change the look and mood of a room. Even if you don’t typically like to decorate with the traditional fall colors, pumpkins and foliage, a simple pillow switch shows change of season. I love buying pillow covers that can be easily folded and stored away between seasons without taking up space.  This year I’m loving the deep jewel tones of burgundy, gold, navy and burnt orange. Of course my leopard pillow is my favorite neutral that can be carried through any season.

Let your room dictate the personality of the pillow.  This buffalo check pillow is a perfect blend with my white and gray kitchen.  You can see more of our fall kitchen tour HERE.

Try an unexpected color! I never cared for orange, but once I paired this burnt orange pillow with the linen sofa and navy accents it had me swooning. I didn’t need to do much else in our loft here to make it look fall-cozy.  You can see the full fall tour of our loft HERE.

Fall decorating can be as simple as layering in the textures with warm throw blankets. There is something about a cozy looking blanket draped over a sitting spot or tucked in a basket that makes a room so inviting.

There are few things I use year after year in my seasonal decor. However, my yellow fall foliage branches have been a fall staple in my home for many years. They are timeless and add the punch of color to any room.  I always suggest adding some sort of fall foliage to a fun urn, vase, bucket, whatever you have on hand.  Go for a joy ride and snip some fall branches from some overgrown trees even.

Our fall table is quite simple so no need for a formal table runner or table cloth. I just shop my closet for my inspiration piece. The best part was that it’s free!  This particular scarf is quite wide so I was able to spread it out loosely. However, I think a narrow scarf would be just fine too!
