Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours Fall 2016

Hello & welcome to the Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours Fall edition! I’m joining a very talented group of bloggers today organized by our fabulous host Lindsay at The White Buffalo Styling Co.  Be sure to check out her home as well as the other participating bloggers that I will send you off to at the end of my tour. If you’re coming over from Cassie Bustamante, welcome! I love how she styled her bohemian fall porch!

If you’re here for the first time, here’s a little introduction. I’m Shauna, married to the love of my life going on 19 years, and momma to three boys.  We live in Colorado Springs, CO where fall comes early and winter soon follows with long cold months through May. All month long I’ve been decorating for fall in my home, room by room. Today, I’ll give you a tour of the first thing you see when you walk up our front steps…our courtyard. Then I’ll take you into one of my favorite spaces in our home which is our bar.

Open the gate and enter into our courtyard.  Grab a handful of candy corn and stay awhile.  I’ll let the photos do most of the talking.

I scored big time on these massive mums from Costco this year.  To me, fall just isn’t fall without a few mums on the porch. The wreath is a DIY from last year of combining two wreaths together.

In honor of the sugar binge month upon us, AKA October, I stocked up on fun root beer bottles for the boys and candy corn for me!beautiful-fall-decorating-fall-patio-11

Meet Gucci, our 5 lbs of fury. He’s my lil’ photobomber who hears the camera and comes running for a pose.

I love to decorate for Halloween.  I’ve been holding out busting out all the cute skeletons but couldn’t resist this glass skull head I found at Gordmans.

Moving on into the bar in our basement.  Pour yourself a drink and stay awhile!

Every year we host a halloween bash and this is the spot where it all goes down. Imagine that back bar wall lit up with a rainbow of lights, the island spread with all sorts of party food and fun drink concoctions.  80’s music on full volume and the most creative costumes out there. I can’t wait to share more about that event in the coming weeks.  When I designed this bar three years ago,  I had entertainment in mind and equipped this space with all the important bells and whistles.

I like to keep my fall decor minimal and modern in the bar and these pumpkins are perfect.  Can we talk about those gold studs?? Love them.  How about those black and white stripes? If you’ve seen our beach cottage then you know that my love runs far for that combo.

  1. Everything is so lovely and festive Shauna! You know I love your bar and that front courtyard is just perfect as you walk up to the house. LOVE those studded pumpkins as well. Happy fall my friend…you do it well!!! Xoxo

  2. Shauna, your home is so inviting and full of fall festiveness! It’s all inspiring — always so delightful to visit your home. Thank you for so graciously welcoming us in for all of your tours this season. Also, I loved your post about stepping back from sharing as much to invest more fully into the remaining months of your son’s senior year. You know my heart strings were tugged and I was inspired by your words as a mom of a sophomore boy. My last baby at home! AHHH!!! I think you are such a wonderful mama to want to keep your priorities in order and savor every day of this next year. Much love to you, friend! xoxxo

    1. Melissa, your words mean the world to me! I’m sure going to miss not seeing you this year in NY! I’ll always cherish our first encounter there and how so very sweet you were to me. Savor these last few years with your son at home, I know you will! These kids just grow up too fast! Not good for a momma’s heart. You’ve been so busy in your new home that I hope you can just relax and enjoy everything you’ve done so far during this fall season. Fall has always looked so pretty in your home. Loves back at ya sweet friend!
      xoxo

  3. Thank you for mentioning sugar binge month–I also observe that in October, lol! Love the graphic touches you brought in with black and white. It’s kind of edgy fall, and I love it!

  4. Shauna, it’s so LOVELY! I adore that courtyard and how you’ve styled it up for the season. I have got to get to Costco and check on those mums! Always such a pleasure to have you 🙂

    1. Thank you Lindsay for inviting me once again to the BSHT. I LOVE this tour and am always so honored to be a part of it! I hope you get some of those mums from Costco, they were $15.99…shocking!! Happy fall to you friend!

  5. Beautiful Shauna! Just like you and everything you do! I’ve loved every single one of your Fall posts and especially loved your post about priorities. Such a busy time of year and one to savor with kids for sure! You really made me think about how I want to prioritize my time this holiday season. But I have to say that knowing what’s going on in your world.. I have a feeling those scrapbooks might be put off another year or two. 😉 Love you cutie! xo

    1. I’m determined on those scrapbooks Erin! They may be a little shabby but they’ll get done…lol! Balancing those priorities is so challenging but we know what’s most important and that’s our family. NOTHING else! Love ya girl!
      xoxo
